PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan has been cautioned against flouting the rule of law by acting on the recommendations of the National Judicial Council (NJC) that the President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Ayo Salami, be retired following his face off with the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Aphonsus Katsina-Alu.
The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), which gave the advice yesterday, also directed lawyers in the country, including those to be conferred the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) to
stay away from the swearing in ceremony slated for Friday.
According to the NBA National Executive Committee, President Jonathan should not implement the recommendations of the National Judicial Council (NJC) seeking the retirement of Salami because a matter is already pending in court.
